Sen determines which weaponskill you execute. The Samurai is an up-close melee DPS that requires you to manage the three forces of Sen: Setsu, Getsu and Ka (Snow, Moon and Flower respectively). The Samurai’s most important stat is intelligence and it shares gear with the Monk. Speak to him again and you’ll start your Level 50 Samurai quest. Upon completing your dialogue with him, you’ll become a Samurai and gain some a sword, a set of clothes and a gem with the souls of his brethren. The old guy is into you, or at least, believes in your promise. Next, speak to the “Far Eastern Elder” in the Gladiator Guild. Head to the Gladiator Guild, where you’ll speak to the “Silver-tongued Showmaster” who you can find in the arena. Apparently this excited fellow saw some awesome swordwork in the arena. Speak to “Ul’dahn Citizen,” who is standing in the middle of the street right in front of the plaza. (You must have Final Fantasy 14: Stormblood installed and a level 50 character.) When both mana are at a certain amount, your weaponskills become enchanted and deal additional damage. You generally accumulate mana by casting spells of both types, but if the gap between the two mana types is too large, it will become harder to accumulate the amount you have less of. The Red Mage Job Gauge is called the Balance Gauge and displays how much black and white mana your Red Mage has accumulated.
The Red Mage has a hybrid range and melee style that allows them to deal major damage by linking multiple spells through the use of Dualcast, then following up with melee attacks. The Red Mage’s main stat is intelligence, and it shares gear with Black Mages and Summoners. Good luck, adventurer! You’ve even got a fresh set of red robes to take with you. Speak to X’rthun Tia once more to start your Level 50 Red Mage quest. This completes your quest: you’re now a Red Mage. The head-turner in the crimson gear asks you to join him for a drink at the Coffer & Coffin, so head to Black Brush Station and enter Coffer & Coffin. Turn in the quest with the Distressed Lass to bid the girls farewell. Talk to the Well-Dressed Lass, then to the Red-Garbed Traveler beside her. You’ll find a “Well-Dressed Lass” in the middle of the fray. A confrontation is going down practically right at the Gate. Go through the Gate of Thal and head west. Her sister has been kidnapped and she’s very upset! Talk to her to start the Red Mage quest.
You’ll see a “Distressed Lass” east of the Gate of Thal exit.
